Kink-Affirming Therapy

Kink-affirming therapy acknowledges and affirms the validity and normalcy of kink, fetish & BDSM identities and practices. It aims to create a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals who engage in kink to discuss their thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to their kink identity or lifestyle.

Kink-affirming therapists work to help clients explore and understand their kink identity or lifestyle and to develop a healthy relationship with their kink identity. This can include developing communication skills, boundary-setting, and learning how to negotiate consent in their kink relationships.

Kink-affirming therapy is important because many individuals who engage in kink may feel stigmatized or misunderstood by mainstream society, which can cause shame, guilt, and anxiety. By providing a safe and accepting environment, kink-affirming therapy can help individuals to accept and embrace their kink identity or lifestyle, leading to increased self-awareness, self-acceptance, and overall well-being.

At Progressive Therapeutic Collective, we work hard to provide kink-affirming therapy.

We utilise the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Working with People with Kink Interests.

Our practice is based in Boorloo/Perth, but we work online across Australia.
